What’s it all about?

To celebrate our 60th year, we’re asking you to join us to run, walk, cycle, wheel – move anyway you can – to help us travel virtually around 70 FitzRoy sites covering 839 miles.

You can do as much or as little as you choose, and all are welcome to get involved. It’s never been more important for us to break down barriers for people with learning disabilities and autism. Sign up now and every penny you raise will help someone experience more independence, more choice, and more joy.

When is this happening?

Our Around FitzRoy Challenge kicks off on 27 April and it will be a massive effort to complete the miles together within 80 days. You can join at any point too so don’t worry if you can’t start with us in April.

How do I get involved?

You can sign up below for free. You’ll need to create a fundraising page on JustGiving and ask your friends and family for sponsorship – you can set your own fundraising target, we suggest a minimum of £80. You can upload your miles to your page, or set up Strava, the fitness app, and let it automatically update your page for you.

Why are we doing this?

2022 is our 60th year and we want to celebrate our rich history and everything we have achieved in the last 60 years. Beginning at our first ever ‘home with a small h’, we will virtually journey around the country together, celebrating all our wonderful services. At the same time, there is still so much to do, so we will be raising funds to keep on breaking down barriers and transforming lives.

Who can take part?

Our Around FitzRoy in 80 days challenge is accessible for everyone. You can complete your own miles at your own pace, and in your own way. Whether you are using your feet, a wheel, a bike or a paddle, you can join and contribute, helping us travel around all our FitzRoy services and learn about FitzRoy’s history as we go.
